Religion and Comprehensive Security

The workshop, Religion and Comprehensive Security, held on the 27-28 of July, was a forum for a group of scholars to present their research on the topic for a soon to be published edition of The Review of Faith & International Affairs. That edition will focus solely on Religion and Comprehensive Security and will be published later in 2022.

The event was organized by Judd Birdsall, Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs, Georgetown University, USA, and Pasquale Annicchino, University of Foggia, Italy, with the support of the International Center for Law and Religion Studies (ICLRS).

Dennis Hoover, Editor in Chief of The Review of Faith & International Affairs, opened the workshop on the evening of the 27 with a keynote on Pluralism as Prevention: Reflections on Two Decades of Religion and Security. Three panels were held the next day on Law, Policy and Comprehensive Security; Comprehensive Security in Contexts; and Freedom of Religion or Belief and Comprehensive Security. Each participant presented their research on their chapter for of the upcoming edition and received feedback from the group.
