Points of Light: Healing Division by Centering on Human Dignity for Everyone Everywhere

Panel discussion by the authors of Points of Light, a book that uses the principles of human dignity to address conflict and find common ground in
the human rights arena.

Professors Brett Scharffs and Jane Wise joined Ján Figeľ and JaLynn Prince as panelists in a breakout session at the IRF Summit in Washington, DC to discuss their new book titled Points of Light. The book discusses human dignity, which Brett Scharffs referred to as “the swiss army knife of human rights.” Jane Wise shared her experience as editor of the book, and Professor Scharffs shared a profound quote from the book about human dignity: “The inalienable dignity of each person… cannot be erased, though we see betrayals in abundance.”
