Vice Minister of Information and Social Development, Kazakhstan
Marat Azilkhanov graduated from the Karaganda State Medical University with a degree in general medicine and from the Academy of the National Security Committee with a degree in jurisprudence. He worked as a a surgeon before beginning service with the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2011–2013 he served as deputy chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and from 2013-2014 as chairman. Azilkhanov was vice minister of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 2014-2016 and executive secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 2016-2018. He then served as Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan until being appointed to his current position in 2019 as Vice Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
