Presiding Judge of the Chamber for Criminal Cases, Supreme Court of Mongolia
Judge Khosbayar has well-established competence in criminal law and procedure and considerable experience in criminal proceedings working as prosecutor, defense advocate, and judge at all levels of the judiciary during 20 years of service. He has been actively engaged in advancing criminal justice reform in Mongolia. Khosbayar earned his BA degree in Mongolia and received an LLM degree at the J. Reuben Clark Law School. He completed an internship at the Fourth District Court in Provo, Utah. In addition, Khosbayar is an adjunct professor for advanced criminal law and advanced criminal procedure and criminology as well as a PhD candidate at the School of Law of the National University of Mongolia. In his doctoral thesis, he is researching issues related to the application of international treaties, to which Mongolia is a party, by national courts. He lives in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and enjoys traveling and hunting.
