Bishop Victor Brown is senior pastor of Mt. Sinai United Christian Church and a former adjunct professor of preaching at New York Theological Seminary. He is also a suffragan bishop and a founding board member of the Worldwide Fellowship of Independent Christian Churches, serving as second-in-command to Archbishop Everett Caldwell. Bishop Brown graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, then earned a master of divinity degree from New York Theological Seminary, where he was a three-time recipient of the Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Scholarship. He earned a doctor of ministry degree in community transformation from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bishop Brown holds the rank of inspector with the New York City Police Department and made history as the first Staten Island minister appointed to the Chaplains Unit. He serves as senior administrative manager of Community Health for Staten Island University Hospital. Bishop Brown has been celebrated for his efforts in speaking out against social injustice. He is married to Rev. Nicole Whitmore-Brown and they have a blended family of four children and six grandchildren.
