Tony Brown

Tony Brown is a professor in Brigham Young University’s Department of German and Russian. He specializes in Russian language and cultural history, second-language acquisition, and international academic internships, which he oversees in Russia, the Baltic States, Central Europe, and Germany. Dr. Brown earned his BA in Russian from Southern Methodist University, followed by advanced degrees in Russian and Second-Language Acquisition from Bryn Mawr College. Since joining BYU in 2004, he has contributed significantly to the university’s global engagement by developing study abroad programs and internship opportunities. He is passionate about connecting academic and professional communities through language education and cultural exchange. He is also a devoted family man, married to Emily, with four children.
