As Symposium 2018 delegate Daneil Cere, professor of religous studies at McGill University put it, “The students have just been remarkable. It’s not just in terms of the work they are doing but in their cordiality. It’s been wonderful having the opportunity to meet, talk, and walk the walk with BYU students.”
The Committee for the 25th Annual International Law and Religion Symposium:
MASTER SCHEDULE. Shelise Rupp, chair, with Erin CranorandMcKenna Rammell. The team coordinates and oversees the Master Schedule of all Symposium events, including delegate schedules. This involves knowing the comings and goings of all sub-committees and adjusting on the fly.
RECRUITMENT.Rhonda PeckandSara Plater, chairs, with Taylor Shawand Bekah Chamberlin. The team recruits, organizes, and supervises all student volunteers from the law school and BYU student body, as well as coordinating campus-wide events for Symposium delegates.
INTERPRETATION AND DOCUMENTS. Athelia Graham and Emily Parkinson, chairs, with Scott Balmsmeier, Kevin Moscon, and Andrew Birkinsha. Responsibilities include gathering delegate presentations and coordinating with translators, compiling moderator packets, preparing documents for publication, and various other important details.
TRANSPORTATION. Stephanie Lenhart, Scott Mosley, andGeorge Simons, chairs, with Hayley Brooks Cousin and Madison Moss. Their responsibilities include ensuring the safe travel of each delegate to and from the airport and each venue. They coordinate the volunteer drivers but often spend hours driving themselves.
