Steve Richardson is the Solution Manager of Translation Systems in the Church’s Information and Communication Systems Department. Prior to working at the Church, he presided over the Brazil São Paulo South Mission with his wife. Before the mission, he worked at Microsoft Research as a Principal Researcher and manager of the Machine Translation Group and at IBM working in natural language processing, including at the TJ Watson Research Center. He holds BA and MA degrees in Computer Science and Linguistics from BYU and a PhD in Computer Science from the City University of New York. Steve is currently the president of the Association for Machine translation in the Americas.
Marianna Richardson is currently a law student at the BYU J. Reuben Clark Law School. Previously, she was adjunct faculty at the Marriott School of Management teaching business communication and editing the Marriott Student Review. Marianna received her EdD from Seattle Pacific University and her MS from Johns Hopkins University. She has written books on C. S. Lewis, Alfred Edersheim, and supporting returned missionaries. Steve and Marianna are the parents of 12 children and 26 grandchildren.
