Solomon Negussie Abesha, Associate Professor, Addis Ababa University, College of Law
Solomon Negussie Abesha is an associate professor and former dean of the College of Law and Governance Studies at Addis Ababa University. He earned his PhD from Utrecht University, Netherlands; his LLM from Amsterdam University, Netherlands; and his LLB from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. His research focuses on comparative constitutional federalism, law and development, and human rights. He serves as a senior resource person in decentralization and governance, and he has published widely in the areas of constitutional law, taxation, federalism, and human rights. Currently, besides teaching and research, he is serving as senior legal advisor for the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council. He also serves as board chair for a local civil society organization working on promoting dialogue, peace and conflict transformation in Ethiopia.
