Shovosil Ziyodov

Shovosil Ziyodov, doctor of historical sciences, specializes in the study of history and sources of Islam. He focuses on the history of librarianship in Central Asia from the 15th to the early 20th century, particularly through the analysis of manuscripts and seals. He graduated in 1995 from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies with a degree in Arabic language and literature. Dr. Ziyodov conducted research on general history, historiography, and methods of historical research at the Oriental Manuscripts Fund of the Abu Rayhon Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. He defended his dissertation, “The Written Legacy of Abu Mansur Maturidi and His Work, Kitab at-Twilat,” in 2003. Currently, Dr. Ziyodov serves as director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. His research areas include the Maturidiya Theological School, Arabic manuscript paleography, the history of Central Asian libraries, and Oriental seals.
