Scott Stearman, UN Representative, Baptist World Alliance / Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
Scott Stearman convenes the International Advocacy Baptist Collaborative, which seeks to amplify and coordinate the advocacy work of the global Baptist family at the United Nations and in Washington, DC. He is the lead representative of the Baptist World Alliance at United Nations Headquarters, and he provides leadership to the NGO committees on human rights and religious freedom or belief. Stearman is vice chair of the board of trustees of the Parliament of World Religions and writes regularly on the intersection of religion and international/cultural affairs. For more than three decades, he has served as a Baptist pastor with congregations in Athens, Greece; Paris, France; St. Louis, Missouri; New York City, New York; and Tampa, Florida. His educational background includes theological degrees from Southwestern and Princeton Seminaries and a PhD in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma.
