Robert Torres, Chief Justice, Judiciary of Guam
Robert Torres was appointed to the Supreme Court of Guam in 2004 and is serving his third term as chief justice. He is an executive committee member of the Pacific Judicial Council, a past president of the American Judges Association (AJA), a member of AJA’s executive committee and board of governors, and the membership secretary for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Judicial Council. Torres received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from Harvard Law School. He was awarded a doctor of laws (LLD) honoris causa from the University of Cebu and later from Centro Escolar University Makati, both of which are in the Philippines.
