Phil Colton retired from the U.S. State Department as a Senior Scientist. He was also in the Action Army Reserves for 37 years, retiring as a Colonel. He also served as a Director at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria for a total of 14 years. Phil was one of the staff members who shared in the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the IAEA in 2005. He also worked in the private nuclear fuels industry. Phil received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Metallurgical Engineering, and did graduate studies at several other universities.
Barbara Colton graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She received her Master of Music in Conducting from the University of Maryland. Barbara has been active in church and community music groups. She has authored a book on the McGlaughlin family of Ohio. Barbara and Phil are the parents of four children and ten grandchildren.
