Otilia Inés Lux García de Cotí, a Maya K’iche’ woman from Guatemala, is an advisor for the Indigenous Women Emblematic Program at the Fund for the Development of Indigenous Peoples of Latin America (FILAC). With a degree in educational administration, she has held various important roles, including congresswoman and minister of culture and sports in Guatemala, representative to UNESCO’s executive council, and Indigenous peoples expert at the United Nations. She has also taught at several universities, including Carlos III University, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and FILAC’s Indigenous Intercultural University. She serves as an advisor to MADRE for Indigenous women in New York.
