Myron Walker

Myron Walker, retired owner of Country Crisp Foods, served for many years, along with his wife, Olene Smith Walker, as a member of the International Advisory Council, and a strong supporter of the Center. Olene, who passed away in 2015, was the first female governor of the State of Utah. During the ten years prior to being sworn in as governor in 2004, she had served as the fourth Lieutenant Governor of Utah and had spent eight years in the state legislature, including a term as Majority Whip. She founded and served as the Director of the Salt Lake Education Foundation and was also director of the Utah Division of Community Development. She chaired the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, the Utah State Housing Coordinating Committee, the Governor’s Commission on Child Care, and the National Conference of Lieutenant Governors. Governor Walker received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, a master’s degree from Stanford University, and a doctorate from the University of Utah respectively. Myron and Olene are the parents of seven children and grandparents of twenty-five grandchildren.
