Jose C. Reyes, Jr., Justice, Supreme Court of the Philippines, retired
Jose Calayag Reyes Jr., from Tacloban City, Philippines, is an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Reyes earned an AB of political science and a bachelor of laws, both from San Beda College. Before becoming a member of the bar, he served as a technical assistant to Chief Justice Felix V. Makasiar for seven years. Reyes transferred to the Office of the Chief Attorney as a court attorney III until he was appointed presiding judge of the Metropolitan Trial Court of Pasig. Later, he became a presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court of San Mateo, Rizal, an associate justice of the Court of Appeals, and chairman of the appellate court’s fourth division. He is now a professor at the College of Business and Economics at De La Salle University and also a treasured professorial lecturer II in the Remedial Law Department of the Philippine Judicial Academy. He is an active Eucharistic minister of Villa San Miguel Chapel in Mandaluyong City, a Luzon North deputy, supreme director of the Knights of Columbus, and an alumnus of the John Haggai Institute in Hawaii.
