Ingrid Rosendorf Joys, General Secretary, The Council for Religious and Lifestance Communities
Ingrid Rosendorf Joys is secretary general of the Council for Religious and Life Stance Communities in Norway. She is a deputy member of the board of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo and holds a cand. polit./sociology degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She was previously the head of external relations for the Catholic Church in Norway and head of communications at the European Council of Religious Leaders (Religions for Peace). She also served as deputy chair of the City of Oslo’s Faith and Belief Committee. Joys has led and participated in several dialogues in Norway, including Jewish-Catholic Dialogue and Abraham’s Forum. She has advocated for a broad political settlement for the Religious Communities Act, which came into force in 2021. In 2022 she received the Martin Luther King Jr. Nonviolence Award for her religious diplomacy. Joys is a member of the Press Academic Committee, frequently publishes op-eds in various newspapers, and is a regular columnist at the newspaper ABC News. She has been appointed a committee member for Norway’s National Jubilee 2030. Joys is married to Jorge Bobis Jensen. Together they have three children.
