Ibrahim Ahmad Makari graduated from the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Azhar University, Cairo. Upon his return to Nigeria, he joined the academic line and steadily climbed through the ranks until he became a professor of Arabic language at Bayero University, Kano in 2017. He has studied under some of the most eminent scholars in Nigeria and beyond, specializing in Hadith and Islamic Jurisprudence. His academic and literary works have been used in research for more than 50 theses. Professor Makari founded the Tazkiyah group of schools and the Tazkiyah Orphans Support Initiative, which sponsors the education of thousands of orphans. He is a member of several organizations, including the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, the Assembly of Muslims in Nigeria, and the Sixth Foundation for African Scholars.
