Gene Schaerr is a veteran litigator in state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He served as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justices Warren Burger and Antonin Scalia, an for D.C. Circuit Judge Ken Starr. Gene received a BA from Brigham Young University, and two masters degrees in economics from Yale University. He received his JD from Yale. He is an adjunct professor at BYU Law School, where he teaches courses on religious freedom litigation and Supreme Court practice. He is also the managing partner at the D.C. law firm Shaerr|Jaffe LLP. Martha Schaerr has served for the past several years as a member of the Maryland Board of Physicians and as a member of the Montgomery County (MD) Republican Central Committee. She has twice won the Republican nomination for the Maryland House of Delegates. She regularly lobbies the Maryland legislature on issues related to family life and religious liberty. Martha is a mother, grandmother, church leader, and teacher.
