Gabriell was born in Louisville, Kentucky to an American mother and a Filipino immigrant father. She attended college at Brigham Young University–Hawaii and obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Cultural Studies with a primary emphasis in intercultural peacebuilding, a secondary emphasis in communications, and a minor in music. During her undergraduate years, she took a break to serve for eighteen months as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chiclayo, Perú. After graduating, she went to work at the Justice Court in Sandy, Utah. In addition to serving on the Symposium Executive Committee, Gabriell has experience as a research assistant for the Center and as a Center fellow. In 2018 she completed an externship with the Church’s Office of General Counsel over the Caribbean Area.
