Dambajav Choijiljav, Abbot, Zuun Khuree Dashichoiling Monastery
His Excellency Dr. Dambajav Khamba Lama has played an important role in reviving traditional monastic rituals and activities and developing monasteries in Mongolia. On his initiative, Zuun Khuree Dashichoiling Monastery was reopened in 1990 on its old foundation. Since that time, the monastery has gradually revived its traditional rituals and activities and developed public and international relationships. Choijiljav has gained membership for the monastery in respected international organizations such as the World Fellowship of Buddhists, World Sangha Council, World Buddhist Confederation, Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youths. He has been elected to higher positions in those organizations and has represented Mongolian Buddhists and Sanghas in international conferences and forums in United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, India, Korea, Thailand, China, Kazakhstan, and other many countries. Choijiljav is also collaborating with educational environmental organizations as well as government and non-government organizations to arrange educational, humanitarian, and environmental activities.
