Dallas Bates is from Salt Lake City, Utah. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eastern Ukraine, Dallas earned a bachelor’s degree in Russian from Brigham Young University. While an undergraduate student, he met his wife, Megan, who is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. He is currently enrolled in the JD/MPA program at BYU and plans to work in international law. He is looking forward to working with the ICLRS this summer to better understand international religious freedom law in Eastern Europe. During his free time, he enjoys car detailing, woodworking, reading, and traveling with Megan. They have traveled together to three countries and are excited for travel restrictions to lift so they can keep working on their travel bucket list.
