Atik Ali
Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for International Human Rights, Finland
An LLM who trained on the bench, Atik Ali is presently vice chair of the Advisory Board for International Human Rights at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. He is also a member of the human rights delegation at the Human Rights Centre and has served as president of the National Forum for Cooperation of Religions in Finland. Mr. Ali was a board member, chairman, and president of the Finnish Islamic Congregation (established in 1925) from 1988 to 2018 and was invited to become its honorary president in 2020. In 2023 he was Finland’s nominee for the annual Global Human Rights Defender Award, which is presented by the US Department of State. At present, Mr. Ali’s principal occupation is running his law practice while chairing the association of Real Estate Board Professionals of Finland.
