Abdul Mu’ti, Secretary General Muhammadiyah, Central Board of Muhammadiyah
Abdul Mu’ti is a professor of Islamic education at the State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah in Jakarta. He is also general secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Indonesia—a Muslim modernist association established in 1912. Muhammadiyah has more than 50 million members throughout Indonesia and 30 special branches overseas. Currently, Mu’ti also serves as general chairman of the Indonesian Conference of Religion and Peace. He has published many books, including Toleransi Otentik (Authentic Tolerance) 2019; Pluralisme Positif: Konsep dan Implementasinya Dalam Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (Positive Pluralism: Its Concept and Implementation), 2019; and Kristen Muhammadiyah: Mengelola Pluralitas Agama Dalam Pendidikan (Christian Muhammadiyah: Managing Religious Diversity Within Muhammadiyah Education), 2023.
