Chief, Ministry of Peace
Awoke Atinafu Adam is chief executive of Peacebuilding in the Ministry of Peace of Ethiopia. He has 24 years of work experience in governmental institutions. Adam has a PhD in peace and security studies and a master of social work in community and social development. He has been a research fellow or academic visitor in the United Kingdom (Oxford, Birmingham, Bath Spa, and Bristol universities), Germany (University of Hamburg), and New Zealand (University of Otago). His research interests are resource competition, human security, effects of industrial wastes on community health, indigenous people on the conservation of natural resources, social capital for peacebuilding, and a win-win approach as a mechanism to conflict transformation. Adam sees the ICLRS Symposium as an opportunity to enrich his knowledge and experience in his future endeavors of peacebuilding and religious tolerance activities in his ministry.
