Dave Colton is currently a student coach and mentor at the Law School, and is assisting with several new conferences sponsored by the Center. He began service as Chair of the Center’s International Advisory Council in April 2018. He retired as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Company (formerly Phelps Dodge Corporation). Dave was a partner at Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. He and his wife, Julie, created and funded the S. David and Julie Colton Endowed Fund for ICLRS to support the Center’s activities and programs in Europe. They served as Government Relations Specialists assigned to the United Nations in New York City. Dave also worked as the LDS Europe Area Legal Council. Dave is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School, and both he and Julie are graduates from BYU. They are the parents of nine married children and currently have 24 grandchildren.
