Head of Department of Ethnic and Religious Components Affairs, The Presidency of Kurdistan Region, Iraq
Florin Seudin is a human rights activist. Since 1999, she has worked with different UN agencies as well as in the private and public sectors. She is the head of the Ethnic and Religious Components Department for the Presidency of Kurdistan Region. Ms. Seudin worked in an advisory role during the United Nations country assessment of Iraq’s status on gender, justice, and law. She also advised on the role of women in the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Economic Plan. She was awarded the Certificate of Parliament of Kurdistan as a women’s rights protector in 2018. She also received the Human Rights Defender Award from Heartland Alliance International in 2018 for her contribution to the protection and promotion of human rights in Iraq. She was awarded the Minorities Rights Defender award by the International Council for Religion and Humanitarian Dialogue for her efforts in spreading the values of love and peaceful coexistence and for promoting peaceful dialogue between different religions and civilizations of the world.
