Ibrahim Mulushewa Eshete

Ibrahim Mulushewa Eshete is the cofounder and current executive director of the Center for National and Regional Integration Studies (CeNRIS), a nonprofit organization that promotes greater peace and integration among the peoples of Ethiopia and the countries in the Horn of Africa by raising understanding levels and creating and disseminating knowledge and information based on research. CeNRIS is working on different projects that focus on peacebuilding and violence prevention by conducting research, giving training to pertinent bodies, and facilitating dialogue among politicians and activities. As one of the intellectuals involved in Ethiopian studies, Dr. Eschete focuses on the political history of Ethiopia and the Horn. He is renowned—both in his work and in his remarks on radio and television broadcasts—for making insightful critiques of Ethiopian historiography, with a particular emphasis on the history of disadvantaged groups’ disproportionate representation in Ethiopian studies.
