Rakesh Naidoo

Rakesh Naidoo has worked with diverse communities for more than 30 years. He is currently the national partnerships manager—ethnic at New Zealand Police, holding the rank of superintendent. He has supported the NZ Police to be the leading agency responding to diverse ethnic communities and contributed to the successful ethnic communities’ response to the Canterbury earthquakes in 2011, Christchurch terror attacks in 2019, and establishment of the All of Government—Caring for Communities COVID-19 workstream in 2020. His current governance roles include Sport NZ, NZ Football, and Gandhi Nivas Family Harm services. He is a lay member of the NZ Law Society’s National Standards Committee and former chair of the Wellington Interfaith Council.
