Adelaide Madera received her Ph.D. in Law and Religion and Canon Law in 2000. She was an international scholar at the Catholic University of Leuven from November 1999 to May 2000. She is an Associate Professor of Canon Law and Law and Religion at the Department of Law of the University of Messina, Italy. She is also a member of the Academic Board of the Ph.D. School in Legal Studies at the University of Messina. Adelaide Madera’s research activities focus on the interrelationship between law and religion, specifically church-state relationships, religious organizations and the law, and religious and civil marriage.
