Webinar Summary
The discussion opens by inviting each of the panelists to remark on the unique way religion can help the global community come out of the crisis thriving in a new normal. The panel then turns to look at how faith-based organizations are working in disadvantaged communities and providing resources to support these communities in current and future needs, especially when it comes to limiting the contagion. Next, each panelist provides insight on how partnership and solidarity can be improved in the crisis. Participants then put forward questions to the panelists about how to keep religious antagonism from hindering faith-based humanitarian efforts. The webinar closes with questions on the role of faith-based organizations to combat misinformation. Experts Katherine Marshall, Sharon Eubank, and Marco Impagliazzo all weigh in to express both the challenges and opportunities before faith-based humanitarian efforts in the era of COVID-19.
