Clair and Laura recently returned from serving a Church mission in France. Clair is a retired accounting professor from Texas A&M University. He received his undergraduate degree from BYU, and his MS and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. He served a full-time mission in Oklahoma. Clair played rugby for BYU, and is a sports enthusiast.

Laura graduated from BYU, where she was baptized. She managed a retail maternity store. She and Clair are the parents of 10 children. Laura was born and raised in Mississippi.
