Cole & Louise Durham

W. Cole Durham, Jr., is the founding director of the International Center for Law and Religion Studies. He recently retired from BYU, yet still continues his ongoing efforts at the Center. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Professor Durham has had a distinguished career in comparative law scholarship, with specific emphasis on comparative constitutional and church-state law. He currently serves as president of the International Consortium for Law and Religion Studies, based in Milan, Italy, and is co-editor-in-chief of the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion. He has authored numerous important works in the field of law and religion. He was awarded the International First Freedom Award by the First Freedom Center in Richmond, Virginia; he also received an honorary doctorate from Ovidius University in Constanţa, Romania.
