Doris has been involved in church service throughout her life. She has traveled throughout the world. She is a master sewer and genealogist. Doris and her late husband, David, served as mission leaders in Boston, Massachusetts, at Salt Lake Temple Square, and the Mission Presidency of the Provo Missionary Training Center. David was a retired lawyer in the firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall, amd McCarthy. He was a mission president in Boston, Massachusetts as well as at Salt Lake Temple Square. He was also in the Mission Presidency at the Provo MTC.
